Honeymoon in the Ancient Capital

Luang Prabang is a beautiful and tranquil dream-like setting with a fusion of foreign influences and splendid landscape scenery, making this an idyllic, unspoiled and charming destination for visitors. It is no wonder that this amazing city was declared a World Heritage City. The ancient city was the former capital of Laos with a reign of more than 63 kings over 600 years. The city is known as the 'Thousand Pagoda City'; there are countless intriguing architectural highlights in the sleepy and once royal capital.   • Day 1 - Luang Prabang arrival

    Arrive at Luang Prabang International Airport, you'll be driven to your hotel. Luang Prabang is perhaps the best-preserved traditional city in Southeast Asia. The tranquility and charm of this town with its splendid natural scenery and cultural sights make it one of the most delightful places to visit in Laos. In the evening, you'll stroll around the city's Night Market which offers handmade textiles woven by local people and ethnic minority communities. You will spend the night in Luang Prabang.

    Day 2 - Luang Prabang city tour

    Meals: Breakfast - Lunch
    After breakfast, you will enjoy a guided-tour seeing the city's oldest temple of Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground which represents classical Laotian architecture. You will then visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun. In the late afternoon, you will climb up to the top of Mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a panoramic view of the city at sunset and the Mekong River. The rest of the day will be free to wander around the ancient street or just relax with a Laos's beer along the Nam Khan River. You will spend the nigh in Luang Prabang.

    Day 3 - Luang Prabang - Laos Spirit Resort

    After breakfast at your hotel, your guide will show you the National Museum (close Tuesday) at the former Royal Palace which displays a lovely collection of the artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture dating from the days of the early Kings right through the last sovereign. You will also go around the Central Market which is famous for silver jewelry. After visiting these sites, you will be back to your hotel to check out and drive to the Laos Spirit resort which is 15 km away from the city center in the middle of unspoiled and natural green surroundings. The rest of the day will be free to wander around the resort. You will spend the night at Laos Spirit resort.

    Day 4 - Luang Prabang - Lao Spirit Adventure (Elephant + Rafting)

    Meals: Breakfast - Lunch
    This is a full day trip combining a rafting tour with some sightseeing and an exciting elephant ride to/from Tad Sae Waterfall (or alternative route in dry season). Start from the Adventure and Elephant camp, you will cross a small river and will be introduced to our Asian Elephants and venture on a 1hr - 1hr 30 minutes enchanting journey through forests, plantations and fields. This activity program provides you with a breathtaking and unique experience as you make your way through forests and along the Nam Khan River up to the waterfalls of Tad Sae. After visiting the waterfall, lunch is served before a relaxing 30-minute rafting tour along the river back to the resort. The evening is free at your leisure. Stay overnight at Laos Spirit Resort.

    Day 5 - Luang Prabang Departure

    Place Transport: Car->Airplane
    Meals: Breakfast
    Free time until transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
